Hi all, I don’t think I have formally made an introduction. I’m Evelyn, a Singapore-born chef and certified nutritionist who came into cooking after a personal health journey—making it my third career.
I spent 14 years exploring kitchens across Thailand, China, and beyond, worked as a sous chef at a Michelin-starred restaurant, and built a social enterprise in Thailand feeding slum communities since COVID.
Now based in LA, I bring a fresh, modern take to Asian cuisine as a private chef, curating meal preps, events, and food content—while also cooking Mediterranean, French, Middle Eastern, and Mexican dishes for my clients.
For me, food goes beyond the plate—it's about the memories, bonds, and impact it creates in people's lives.
I share my work and knowledge on Instagram @evehappivore and on YT . I joined farcaster last year and am excited to built a community here. Thank you @ted for suggesting to formerly introduce myself. 5 replies

Finally, I had the chance to try the famous Mariscos Jalisco taco truck. But the real highlight wasn’t the crispy bite of the legendary taco—it was watching a young boy savor his, completely immersed in the experience.
There was something special about the way he ate—not just enjoying the flavors but studying them, as if each bite held a lesson. Struck by his curiosity, I struck up a conversation with his grandmother. She told me he’s passionate about food, loves cooking, and even made butter from scratch yesterday. His latest adventure had been Chinese hot pot, and this taco stop? It was his homework.
His grandma brings him to these places, giving him moments not just to eat, but to discover, taste, and learn. Watching them together, I couldn’t help but feel the warmth of that love—of food as a bridge between generations, of learning through flavor, of a young dream quietly unfolding.
Judging by the way he eats, I have no doubt—one day, he’ll be a great chef. ✨ 2 replies
