best neighborhoods in LA to live in? things i care abt: being able to walk (or public trans), nice cafes + restaurants, near the beach or some type of nature, more young ppl factors that aren't important: nightlife, parking, noise, shopping, being near tourist attractions lived on east coast whole life for context

Check out Playa Vista. Venice is also one of the few walkable neighborhoods in LA. Santa Monica if you prefer more structure.

Playa Del Rey + Manhattan Beach other neighborhoods you can check out beyond the ones that were mentioned here Based on things you care about, I would stay west of the 405 highway unless you're considering WeHo Different neighborhoods are a lot further than it seems because of the traffic

+1 for West Hollywood if you’re looking for more urban and younger +1 for Venice and Santa Monica if you want a more casual beachy vibe

West Hollywood. I lived there last year and since moving to SF, I regularly miss it. Planning to move back to LA after my lease

Been in Marina for 8 years and I love it. Same beach as Venice, but much less crowded. Stay as close to washington as possible to have easy access to most local stores.

WeHo = nightlife and it's really far from the beach. But it's definitely a younger area. Venice or Santa Monica would be my recs as those are walkable, close to the beach, etc.
