Farcaster does not have product-market fit. When the protocol sustainably has 200,000 DAU, roughly 100x from here, maybe we're there.

Did you arrive at 200k figure as a % of total market? Or more a feeling

What scale can the current protocol design sustain without something like sharing? What's the cost of running a hub at 200k DAU? Cc: @v

Are you getting to that number based on expected revenue per user? I've been curious how Farcaster/Warpcast will make $. I know we pay for storage/warps, but I'm curious if that's the only monetization strategy.

When it comes to internal KPI's are you just measuring across the raw # of DAU's or are there more metrics like retention etc?

One small improvement/feature request - giving warpcast the ability to remember/switch accounts without having to retype in the recovery phrase? I think the only way to switch right now is to log out and log in from another account with your recovery phrase?

appreciate sense of realism (& agree w assessment) but, having used Lens, X, FB, LinkedIn, Ello, Dribbble, Vine, TikTok, Tumblr, Dialect, Reddit, Voat, ketl, Instagram, Baidu, VK, 4chan, telegram, Geneva, BlueSky, Twitch, DLive, & many more — there’s a reason I’m investing so much time in FC. You’ll get there.

I also like PG’s definition of PMF — reminiscent of the Supreme Court — “you’ll know it when you feel it” Something like people are pulling out of you faster than you can deliver. (In this sense you may have PMF, but in the still small market of crypto-friendly nerds)

We need more of this energy. Farcaster is extremely promising for us all and being grounded in how far we have to go to see true PMF is very much appreciated.

Eh, product market fit can certainly be defined by specific usage targets, but I feel like Farcaster has found big time product market fit in the general enjoyment of Warpcast and the budding protocol ecosystem that is forming

PMF is just when people are pulling the product from you. Has nothing to do with numbers.

I think there would’ve been a bigger influx of people if Elon hadn’t bought Twitter. What are the 3 main reasons people should move here? 1. Ethereum OGs are here as well and different discussions happening here 2. Channels channel content discovery 3. NO SPAM. We need more reasons and create FOMO.
