I’ve spent at least 1 night in 34 states. Kentucky, Delaware, Indiana I’ve been through. Will knock out the remaining on a road trip when kids are older and then a trip to Alaska at some point. The West and VT / NH / ME are pretty special from a natural beauty standpoint. https://www.fla-shop.com/visited-states/

Surprised you haven’t been to Louisiana given how much you love food (I also haven’t been and am also surprised at myself)

Just stay in Kansas City 1 night to knock out both Missouri and Kansas at the same time Trust me on this one. And pack a salad the place only has brown/fried food, at least did when I was there a decade ago…

You have some Mississippi River watershed in your future! I have 4 left -> AK, HI, MI, or ND. I’ve done 3 big road trips: 2003 solo, 3 days: (Wilmington, NC -> Chicago -> South Dakota -> Seattle) 2005 w/ cousin, 10 days: (Syracuse, NY -> Colorado -> Grand Canyon -> San Diego -> Seattle via Pacific Coast Highway) 2021 w/ wife and 4 kids, 11 days: (Seattle -> zig zag north & south, finally landing in Raleigh, NC)

50/50 Alaska is incredible from many different perspectives (natural beauty, scale, etc). Still feels wild and frontier-like in many ways, even compared to the wildest places in the Western lower 48

Next time, visit Berea, KY. It is right off 75. The best small art town in KY, home to Berea College. Worth an overnight if, like me, you enjoy small art towns and nature/hiking. I've hit 36 states so far. LOVED the west coast, particularly OR and WA. Alaska is on my bucket list.
