The prevailing narrative until yesterday was Farcaster needs to grow faster / be more aggressive with DAU growth. Gave invites to Active Badge holders only and now the feedback is feed quality is bad. We will solve for the near term this week but good reminder permissionless will bring new challenges. :)

“Just selectively target high quality groups” That was the original onboarding strategy and resulted in a ton of churn. The retained active users on Farcasters aren’t from a single community. More a similar profile: people creating new things, optimistic and civil, interested in Ethereum.

Is that feedback coming from new users or old users?

Loving the simplicity on this side! When will it be possible to sign up for @farcaster without invites @dwr.eth?

That’s inevitable I guess. How do you plan to solve this challenge? Lens protocol had similar issue and their approach to solve actually hurt active (net positive) members of the community

No complaints here. If FC is going to become a first tier option, everyone needs to be here. I don't need the protocol to guard/curate my feed. Just like life, people are widely divergent and we navigate accordingly. I'm glad to see more web3 folks here. Imagine what it will be like when the normies arrive!

If we all just accept that this is a giant, and fun, experiment, then it will be a lot easier to laugh at the missteps and then find the new path forward Imagine the vibe to a new person when they realize it's okay to experiment and the world doesn't need to end when the app tries new things

We need the option to Follow people without them being in our feed, I think. There's lots of people I like but don't necessarily need to see every post from.

Permissionless would bring an insane amount of users/bot/farmers. There is no way to avoid it, best we can do it to encourage good behavior

my feed seems fine, but i'm also fairly new (however i was here prior to the invites given out). maybe people need to curate their following instead of mass following everyone?

I love the new users, things on the feed were starting to feel repetitive but the new content coming in is good.
