Why aren’t there more onchain things like Loot now that blockspace is cheap? Speculative mania aside, where did some of the experimental / tinkerer output go?

I’d say this is something that AI has won a lot of marketshare on compared to 2021.

It's around, just not loud enough. Loot was what it was because Dom was who he was. He had built the social proof with Vine obviously, but within our space with Nouns and Blitmap. Loot was him being playful, and it garnered similar minds to gather on Discord town balls and "play" as well. The Loot of this cycle will be when someone like @jack comes around and releases something completely playful and experimental that takes advantage of all the cheap computation and new design space that has matured in the last 4 years.

@hyperloot still going... game devs are trying to build real games, art devs arent getting attention. most similar experiment ive seen lately (but way better) was /iangac by @sgt-sl8termelon

This has been on my and a few others mind recently. I think it boils down to the general attention moving away from art. There are still folks who like to have fun onchain but it’s mostly seen as a “maxi” thing. Nobody cares their art is ruggable, contracts are composable, etc. https://warpcast.com/sayangel/0xa188ea79

Is it time for a @l--o--l comeback? I needed some frames stuff that were not available 6 months ago, but should be easy now.

We see also several experiences of decentralized storytelling building directly in Farcaster, such as /arrow. @naaate and @luisotravez are working on this question too.

I have 3 thoughts: 1. Loot is kinda basic in terms of a game. It's essentially a dubbed down D&D, but there's not enough of a framework to spark many other people to build on it. 2. There's a solid group of people still involved in the /realmsworld discord. 3. This experimental/tinkerer output is now being put into fully onchain games/frameworks. Some examples: @lattice @dojoengine

Still here but crowded out by the speculative noise. Freysa, bankr, Uni hooks, interesting mini apps, stoke fire, clankermon, etc. After a few interesting experiments have mid runs, builders give the masses what they want in new speculative pumps: flaunch, Yapster, 10k, daos.fun, etc.
