The most frustrating thing about the Kindle is it's a niche business for Amazon—and the publishers are not tech companies and conservative—so innovation is so much slower than it could be ifKindle was an independent company (like Daylight) with a federal law that would require portability of e-books across platforms (sort of like phone number portability).

yeah I use it pretty often but not being able to move my books across platforms is pretty bad though same could be said for the movies I have bought on iTunes

I agree with this but also the kindle is pretty great. I use one so old I don't even know the model name it has and it still does the thing I want it to do better then a brand new iPad Pro. But you'll never catch me arguing against data portability. My most frustrating thing is that I pay twice for the reading experience and the audio experience, even when they are both on the same device.

I'd be so excited and screaming "finally" by all these Kindle announcements but I couldn't care less since I'm waiting for my Daylight to arrive.

They only need to add the keyboard compatibility as with remarkable and it will be almost perfect for me.
