How should we refer to FC channels? f/memes feels too Reddit f.memes has Usenet vibes. And future optionally to do stuff like f.memes.dank or f.memes.wholesome

Aren't channels an WC thing and not an FC thing? Or are channels officially part of the protocol?

fc is stronger imo bc of the double allusion: hits both caster and channel

Maybe f-memes for better readability, unique visual among social stuff, but also still a nod to nerd shit

I still vote for f/ because it’s easy to relate to for the Reddit crowd, and we can benefit more from the network effect by making the transition smoother than by trying to be clever about some new taxonomy. Also, as much as love(d) Usenet, it’s dead Jim, and the period clashes with URL parsers.

Sometimes familiar is the best UX. So in that sense f/memes isn’t necessarily bad. In the same way that many things having twitter vibes is not a problem. On the contrary it can be easier for people to quickly β€˜get’ the value proposition: β€œa wow, look, a twitter with reddit aspects!”

f#memes, with the bonus that f can then be substituted for the entry point URL, leaving the / free for endpoints without collision.
