we let our 2 year old watch a little bit with dinner (he’s a really difficult eater so it’s easier for everyone), but only educational stuff no slop. I think it’s fine.

Screen time can be an absolute life saver. Especially when making dinner or folding laundry (laundry because my toddler really wants to help but actually just throws the clothes around) We try to keep it educational and low-stimulation. Definitely lean into 90s shows from my childhood for less stimulation

We let our 4yo watch cartoons a bit on the weekend, when out to dinner at a nice restaurant or on trips. She does educational games, Disney, and Netflix. She should probably watch less but this works for us and they’ll likely be on screens their whole life…even if it feels weird to us that remember a pre-screen world.

our 17 month old only sees a screen during calls with grandparents, and thankfully his playgroup is screen free, and we also don't have a tv at home - so far we've noticed that even when visiting other homes with a tv on, he tending to find objects to play with and people to interact with unclear if this would have been the case with earlier screen exposure tbh but happy with the path we've chosen

We just started allowing our 22 month old watch about 10 minutes a week. Other than that, it’s limited to Bear in the Big Blue House during nail trimming time as a distraction. At 2 we’ll probably step it up to allowing shorts 2 times per week. There’s no one specific right answer of course.

as long as it’s monitored for quality and done in moderation it’s all good having absolutely no regard for what they consume can be detrimental for sure, modern parenting can also be way too anti-screen time when there’s some advantages to be had too
