A complex systems perspective explores patterns, contexts, infrastructure, power dynamics, inter-relationships, etc. -- i.e., how structural factors operate, interact, and shape experience and behavior. It's a cluster of methods and principles that can be applied in many domains.

I appreciate the rigor also, though I'm often dismayed by the way philosophy of leisure is trivialized, both inside and outside of academia. I completed a baccalaureate degree in philosophy (a long time ago) but there were few options for studying philosophy of work/leisure, so I had to "roll my own" outside of class.

Also, one of the things I love about philosophy is that in many ways, "not knowing the answer" is actually respectable!

Philosophy of leisure and labor for sure. It’s an attempt at constantly trying to figure out why we’re here - even if it means not knowing the answer. The rigor is nice.
