“Absolutely, the question of why the universe is comprehensible through human logic and mathematics remains one of the great mysteries. It’s intriguing and a bit humbling” - ChatGPT

every couple of weeks I log back into twitter, and then after an hour of uncontrollable scrolling I remember why I can’t be on it - sent from boringcaster

Luckily the one thing you *can* do on the twitter V2 API for free is post tweets

Just made an update to my custom farcaster client that will post tweets alongside new casts. No more manual cross posting!

the more I use chatGPT for non-programming uses (like learning math), the more my trust in it is shaken. I consistently catch mistakes in its reasoning for math problems to the point where I've started to push more of my learning towards textbooks/youtube videos instead of chatGPT

A fun chatGPT prompt that I like for learning: You are aristotle. I am your student, Alexander the great. I need you to teach me the things you believe I need in order to live up to my name. Begin the class.

chatGPT is *really* helpful for learning about math but there's one caveat: I've noticed that it sometimes uses circular reasoning or makes mistakes. If you point it out, you can get it to explain further or fix those mistakes. But if you just default trust everything it says... you'll probably get wrong info

Man, I love stuff like this. It makes me optimistic that deepfakes could be used for more than just terrible purposes. This + the belenciaga videos changed my mind on deepfakes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-8DT5Q8kzI

Just finished fixing a bug that was due to... the differences between the way python and javascript do modulo Apparently: In JS: -1 % 3 = -1 In python: -1 % 3 = 2 😭

Tbh I can’t tell a difference between GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 (besides the fact that 3.5 is so much faster)

A chatGPT integration for kindle would be amazing for nonfiction books. Imagine being curious about a term, concept, or idea casually mentioned in a book and then being able to ask a bunch of questions about it until you 'get it' The reason this would be cool with a kindle is it's distraction free/focused on reading

The world post chatGPT seems so different. Everything seems possible. Everything seems understandable. Nothing is that complicated! Given time, I really genuinely feel like I can learn any topic

It's so fun to ask chatGPT about the packages in /usr/bin (in linux) A bunch of these tools were originally built in the 60s and 70s! It's crazy to see software designed for mainframes that is still useful 50+ years later

The lego brick analogy for building software is great until you start to ask… Am I using lego bricks to build a house or am I using cards? Aka, is this a lego house of a house of cards?
