This is a good decision. Preferenxe falsification is a big problem in society and we need to see people's honest views. It would be really cool if Farcaster follows it, by implementing ZK likes. Can probably borrow technology from zupoll. https://x.com/wanghaofei/status/1793096366132195529

My bet is that most if not nearly-all users on Farcaster want other users to see when they like their casts.

if a lot of people pay attention to what tweets you like - you become more cautious of what to like - but this indeed only effects <1% of the users I would guess.

I think it can still be visible to author, maybe itโ€™s a preference, like a public figure such as Jesse may want to keep his likes public so other people can see the good stuff he likes

As I understand the feature, it's about hiding the ability to see what a given account liked. Rather than hiding likes. You'd still get the validation of many hearts under your tweets/casts. Just no stalking someone.

I fully agree with this. hiding who is liking things makes so sense if you are being honest who you are online or onchain.
