One of my more non-consensus bets right now is $RIVN With ~half the country hating Elon (and generally speaking, the rich half), they might want to boycott his products The only sexy EV manufacturer besides Tesla is Rivian. So despite the headwinds of a Trump admin towards EVs, there's a market here

Hmmm I would argue there is an EV sympathy play but Rivian is not it - that chart needs some milk I looked at nio and he looks the same, EHANG looked better poised for recovery Will check rest of basket and report back - might be easier to just play a semi conductor

i worked at a car part manufacturing plant for a year. rivian have the absolute worst quality and tesla have the highest standards for manufacturers also dont think anyone boycotting Tesla could ever afford one

Reasonable. My main fear with this play is - do the trad manufactures capture this market before Rivian can scale up enough? My experience inside a Rivian is that it’s not that different than most gas cars, the software isn’t a differentiator, which makes me lean to the former

I know several people who bought non-Tesla EVs specifically because of Elon. Unfortunately one of them chose the Fisker Ocean, whoops.

Well, Tesla may have higher standards than Rivian, it’s extremely hard to build an automobile. Without a doubt, Toyota is the greatest manufacturer in the world by a large margin. I know this is not an electric car manufacturer, but, it gives you an insight into the range of quality control

owned a rivian r1s (gen 2), wanted to love it, but ended up selling it after 2 months they are targeting the higher end luxury market with the pricing of their cars, but they are not anywhere near the quality of a luxury car. demand has fallen off a cliff and they are now providing incentives in order to sell if they can’t make it to production of their r2/r3 they are in big trouble expecting stock to keep on getting pummeled for the next few quarters, maybe attractive to pick up then to bet on r2 being a hit (big if imo)

The incumbents will simply make better EVs under new nameplates ala Scout or Polestar. Also, Ford makes better EVs but rich people don’t want to be associated with Ford.

I'm so glad Rivian exists because I cannot stand anything Elon touches (I'm deleting all my Twitter accounts as soon as my data exports come in). Lucid is also very nice to look at.

i love my rivian and have shares in $12-14 range as well - as long as they can figure out how to keep producing more and lowering prices i think its a great long term hodl hugely difficult to get ahead in this biz tho, but wish them much success, i love my R1T
