i actually think inexperience might be an advantage in crypto. the industry has been copying the same design patterns—good and bad—since the beginning. like, wtf is a “receive” button? the less experience, the more likely to come up with some different. different is better.

The most experienced crypto users come up with the worst UI patterns. @notdevin.eth this is not a call out 😂

The problem with crypto is that it thinks it’s the star of the show, but for that to be true the users would have to want to focus on crypto and they don’t

An old creative director I had used to look at designs and then say “let me put on my idiot hat” and then proceed to give amazing, clarifying feedback.

This is why the most innovative ideas in a company typically come from fresh college graduates and new hires in the first 90 days. Naivety is a powerful disrupter but it is a fleeting advantage.

but dyt this would lead to a slower mainstream adaption cycle , as consistent design is easier to understand?

You are absolutly right, unfortunately no one really wants to hire inexperience people they want to stick to the standart. I always say the hiring system needs to change if you want real innovation.

I’m a former pro poker player, many launch their career off a big win that offers the $ bankroll to offset mathematical variance. When replaying that victory years later, many are blown away by how “terribly” they played. I think it’s based upon fearlessness, the type that knowledge from experience, suppresses.

Oooof I have to disagree here. Web3 has seen a boom in developers, deployers… it’s great anyone can do something.. but web2 spent decades defining usability, accessibility, code standards etc… everything in web3 breaks and the devs hide behind “we’re in beta”… like seriously.. just test your shit first!!
