We made significant improvements to the foundations of our designs this month, introducing a design language upon which we will further improve and systems our existing screens. First massive steps toward converting our designs from a series of disconnected UI patterns into a proper MVP design system.

People wonder why crypto cannot cross the chasm to adoption yet there are so many examples in FC right now of many people providing ample negative feedback to opinionated choices and getting shut down. Perfect opportunity for someone else to build what people are actually saying they need.

The drawing workshop at @deepwork’s salon to close out /devcon was the most fun I had all week. Got to get out of my head and simply create. Felt inspired afterwards and assembled a zine of everyone’s drawings using the supplies there.

My main takeaway from Devcon is that the Ethereum brand has a perception problem and thus the technology an adoption problem. So much content centered on narrative, symbols, and UX without an attempt to understand the gap. Cypherpunk cypherpunk cypherpunk. Regrowth period happening and new world building being transmitted, but trying to bring a new image to the wrong value set. Cypherpunk doesn’t need a new image, Ethereum needs to shed old ideas.
