removing collections is the most midcurve trend happening in the nft scene

when i talk to creators this is a common red flag. forget what i think. i haven't talked to a single person who is happy about it.

this is a case of abstracting w3 gone wrong. collections provide massive utility for everyone involved, and are excellent for aggregating attention.

Collections extend in art & psychology beyond Web3:
- Private art collectors and gallery curators speak about their art in terms of collections.
- We all organize our photos into albums because grouping like objects tells a better story.
- Anyone with an interest in physical media intentionally curates and displays one or several collections in their homes.
- Collective business models rely on a diverse set of individuals rallying around a specific function.
- Collections are the ultimate personalization of products for creators, curators, and collectors alike

I recently got some great advice from a friend on a bike ride that completely unblocked my thinking around how to build a solo design practice with an active full-time client engagement. 

Next year, I'm doubling down on myself and scaling my practice to enable multiple clients and make room for passion projects. Not exclusively onchain, but definitely starting here.

What are your thoughts on this?


We don’t store data in spinning disks anymore. I guess the clever half moon D had to go. 

I do mourn the nice serif font logos as they go, though. 

Anyway, the new logo looks like a printed circuit board. So it works at a technical level.
