Being a parent changed how I make decisions. Today, I had a race I'd been looking forward to for a long time. Yesterday evening, I had a high fever. My son is also sick. Before becoming a dad, I would have run no matter what (just rest afterwards). Nowadays, my son needs me. I have to take care of myself so I can take care of him. But I also have to stay true to myself.

Difficult balance. My running basically stopped when I had kids and I've found it really hard to get back into. There is a before and after and you just have to adjust to the new normal. Good time by the way. My distance was always 10k so that seems fast to me,!

Pretty wild what parenting does to us huh? 800 $degen for subbing my AF - and for parenting like this.. I often have to remind myself to go to bed bc my kids will be up early regardless of what I’m trying to work on until 3am sometimes. The days might be long but the years are extremely short & suddenly my youngest is already in kindergarten 😳
