Parentcaster

Ran my first race in about a year today for the a village track meet in Okinawa. 

1500m. Clocked in at 5:04.5.

Not a time to write home about, but very light competition so it was a race against myself.

Best thing was making some new friends with the local athletes.

Being a parent changed how I make decisions.

Today, I had a race I'd been looking forward to for a long time.

Yesterday evening, I had a high fever. My son is also sick. 

Before becoming a dad, I would have run no matter what (just rest afterwards).

Nowadays, my son needs me. I have to take care of myself so I can take care of him. 

But I also have to stay true to myself.

Pretty wild what parenting does to us huh? 800 $degen for subbing my AF - and for parenting like this.. I often have to remind myself to go to bed bc my kids will be up early regardless of what I’m trying to work on until 3am sometimes.

The days might be long but the years are extremely short & suddenly my youngest is already in kindergarten 😳
