Being a parent changed how I make decisions. Today, I had a race I'd been looking forward to for a long time. Yesterday evening, I had a high fever. My son is also sick. Before becoming a dad, I would have run no matter what (just rest afterwards). Nowadays, my son needs me. I have to take care of myself so I can take care of him. But I also have to stay true to myself.

Parenthood shifts priorities. Running can wait, but your son's well-being and being present for him matter the most now.

I'm very heavily oriented towards self-sacrifice, so I have to make an adjustment in the opposite direction.
