Kind of agree. I think people think farcaster is lame because: 1. their virtue signaling and bull/bear posting is unauthentic and doesnā€™t get engagement here. 2. 99% of people just care about engagement and extending their reach so their message can be spread. Being a good poster is a skill. Takes even more skill to be able to be good on both X and WC. Few that come to mind that have been doing a good job: @six, @yb, @proxystudio.eth, and the higher crew. Agree on topic carryover though but just topics have to be articulated differently.

Not entirely related to above but also think this is the toughest thing for @dwr.eth and team. Success of Farcaster was onboarding the right people early on. Harder to do as you grow. Itā€™s talent evaluation in a lot of ways. Now that anybody can join Warpcast there are some success stories but becomes harder to ā€œgrowā€ talent when not curating as much. Rewards is a decent start to try an incentivize smaller accounts to help grow / move from X if not monetizing there.

I think a lot of this comes down to the user behavior. Twitter is easily consumed in volume and passively. Farcaster is challenging because itā€™s pretty bad and low EV as a passive participant. Early last year I said this place is basically an ongoing conference and thatā€™s true. Most people want a CES - look at cool shiny novel stuff (which for the most part you can get in the general internet). Farcaster is a nerd conference like NeurIPS, ICRA, SIGGRAPH - itā€™s not very flashy but you can meet some great people.

brb googling how to emulate mid to late twenties east coast crypto bros jk i respect them all deeply important thing that jumps out at me for both six and yb is that they arenā€™t shilling, theyā€™re sharing thoughts that theyā€™ve clearly been considering at length ā€” itā€™s thoughtful

Farcaster feels too much like LinkedIn sometimes - pros and cons of that - but cons outweigh the pros I think. @0xen has a few good takes on this, too.

Social media - on any platform - is fueled by ego. Always has been. Onboarding more scammers and spammers from the bird app isnā€™t going to change human nature.

Good take. I also think Farcaster hasn't (yet!) found its true value proposition. Why should anyone come to Farcaster? * To gain distribution? "Kinda" but the recent channel changes have focused FC away from distribution (imho). * To be informed? not really, most breaking news / debate still start on X today, except for very specific FC-related topics. * For the community? Yes but FC is mostly only 1 big community today: the "Ethereum-friendly builders/users community". This community happens to also like "food", "art" etc... but a Venn diagram would probably show the Ethereum circle as the one overlapping all others. * To gain status? Yes but only if you belong to the Ethereum community. * To make money? Not really today (despite seeing some early launches before X users) but this is the mainstream play that FC could go after more. FC is crypto and crypto is money. The current "reward" is a tiny step in that sense but I feel like there are many other ideas to explore.

On the token side too, farcaster based tokens are very very much rooted in the story of how it came to be and the ideas behind the tech, and ct tokens, even ai, is almost purely hype/attention driven. The way narrative flows is completely different.

Definitely, itā€™s about striking the balance between authenticity and engagement. Farcaster has its own vibe, but adapting the CT meta without losing its essence could be a solid move. Itā€™s all about how the message is framed and delivered.

2 is probably true. Iā€™m a bit shocked a lot of posts compare farcaster to LinkedIn on. I see none of that but thatā€™s a perception, which makes it problematic
