something i changed my mind on since joining farcaster: in 2020s, reach / distribution is the most valuable asset you can have as an individual used to believe skills and reputation were more important but honestly everything is just a downstream of how many people you can reach with a few taps on your phone even if it requires you to post cringe on tiktok

I think this is a result of the way human culture is changing as a result of things like social media.

Tbh Microsoft Teams vs Slack adoption was eye opening for me and it’s realistically a rehash of IE vs Netscape from the past

Tiktok is a very clear example that even the content doesn't matter as much as reach and distribution as funny example there was a user who open lives and sit under the shower and say "am a fish am a fish am a fish" continously for hours, he made Thousands of dollars from this silly content.

i believe posting cringe on tiktok still builds you a reputation and name. so this sounds contradictory. skills, reputation, marketing also are all equally valuable asset.

respectfully disagree. character will always be the most valuable asset you can have as an individual. at least for me, this directly competes with cringe on tiktok. beyond that, it depends on the game you care about and the result you want. reach/distribution is a means to attention, which I agree is _the_ scarce resource for entrepreneurs.
