Feeling two: As many of you know, I’m in the stage of life where my kids are teenagers and deciding where to go to college. I’ve been vocally critical of universities, particularly how the rankings and competitiveness affects how (mostly affluent) parents and teenagers live their lives. They aren’t trying to build resilient, gritty, naturally curious, critical thinkers prepared for the future. They are playing a zero sum game of get into the best college by spending tens of thousands of dollars on tutors and counselors and choosing the extracurricular activities not that they enjoy but that will give them an edge on an application. When I talk to parents of teenagers in my community all they want to talk about is college. I find it all so boring and tedious. But across the internet network, I’ve found other parents like me.

This job posting to be one of the first lecturers at the Network School is giving me all kinds of feelings. 😩😫😫😫😩 I’m seeing it while I happen to be taking my daughter to visit colleges today so it’s hitting extra hard. I am assuming he didn’t dump money into this without some clear way to get his wheel greased 🤑

Easy yes. The bifurcation strategy is from a different era of building and protocols that has proven to be overly idealistic and overcomplicated for builders and users. The most winning version of Farcaster is one where the app and protocol are both synonymous and purpose built for each other and then developers and the ecosystem get permissionless guarantees to tap into the ecocystem, app and all of its distribution. If it ends up being Twitter/Facebook with a completely open and permissionless developer ecosystem that's a huge win for everyone.

i feel like i’ve learned more w this release than any other so far. being an independent artist and having to navigate distributing music is not easy lol but it makes me happy that even when i have a team to do these things for me, i’ll still have learned how to do it all on my own
