THX ! It’s crazy to see that this is so widely desired while most people don’t need it. Why use Next.js to build app when you don’t use the SSR? It just makes things more complicated: it doesn’t feel like it was built with small teams in mind…

wrong; everything old is new again - only SSR, never CSR, back to where we started: php 😂 The main problem with SSR was the complexity of writing isomorphic code and reasoning about state. With only server side that problem is solved. Turns out sending 300kB bundles of your (code split) JS on first request is slow

Based. SSR is bringing a lot of complexity indeed. How do the OG pre-renderers you use work? Ain’t it moving moneys from Vercel to these other companies?

👏 here here! Don't willingly choose to get locked into someone else's server-runtime that you're forced to rent from them.

“Don’t pay vercel, exit the matrix” Convincing front-end developers they needed Vercel was the greatest trick the devil ever pulled.

how do you use prerender to walk through all your dynamic URLs? Also, I´m assumming that you build your backend somewhere? Because if you need an API, where do you host it?

Beauty of a pure dApp is that you can chuck the whole thing into a GCS bucket and call it a day. My server bills are pennies a month for one of my projects.

How do you get prerender set up for open graph tags? And what are the other open source alternatives? Social media sharing has always been a frustration for me with client side apps

great post, gud words! I like how u said don't use SSR b/c it makes your initial load HUGE. Keep ur load small and fast, like your favorite farcasteradmin :) serious Q: what's ur favorite secure authentication provider? client-side can be hardened, but never secured

But I get a 30 minute logs history on Vercel. That's a hard to beat features in exchange of my millions. 🤠
