I for one love a good channel banner. thankful for that bit of flash. and now they've got design room for badges and such. could be fun.

I think this will lead to more people casting on home feed, which is probably net positive for the existence of a cast to home feed option I think it's negative for people on the fringes of established FC communities who have shared interests but won't be able to become members of certain channels that have decided to gatekeep membership I think it's unfortunate that some channels with as broad of an appeal as /memes are apparently becoming paid channels - not having dug into the reasoning (is there any?), it feels like a cash grab That said, I'm also not sure that the previous iteration of channels completely made sense, and I don't have a better solution to recommend, so it's good to see the team iterating

I was excited when the changes were announced. I fully expected hitches - Farcaster is ultimately a sandbox environment after all. But I'm super geeked about the possibilities for growing and joining all sorts of communities.

Feels pretty straightforward for as I seem to have memberships in to many of the channels I already am active in. Feels weird for some that didn’t have any to have zero of their casts show on their timeline

honestly i used it as a baseline to figure out what channels to keep around. if my previous activity granted me membership on the change over, then all good. if not, fade. can always be invited back later.

It's gonna take time. I have not had the time to get granular about the best way to manage my channels. Busy weekend, but can't wait to be able to slow down and make it all work. So much change every day. I'll continue to try my best, but mistakes will be made, haha.

Gmmmmmmm I mean I don't understand the huge pay gate for channels like /memes Less incentivized to onboard anyone that has to pay to be here and then pay yearly to cast on a platform with less than 1million daily active users.. they could just hire moderators and ban spammers and reward those with a power badge or anyone in the top 1000 casters.
