Less incentivized to onboard anyone that has to pay to be here and then pay yearly to cast on a platform with less than 1million daily active users..

they could just hire moderators and ban spammers and reward those with a power badge or anyone in the top 1000 casters.

Just don't believe in penalizing anyone that was consistently casting in memes that got a decent amount of attention without spamming. 

Scaling farcaster just got that much harder imo.

I'd be sympathetic if that wasn't exactly the model from Feb till now, albeit iterated rapidly.

Can't comment on memes, I'm not the host. Expensive is a matter of demand and control. Probably on purpose.

But yep, the costs are a routine pain point and not one that will go away. Freemium models suck and web2 is showing us why, painfully.

That being said, there are freebie ways to onboard to Farcaster, for the curious.
