Some subjective observations from using Frames for a while (mostly on web): • I avoid clicking link buttons (↗), the additional popup is really annoying • Most frames latency is bad, after a few seconds of spinning I just scroll away • Impossible to find the Frames I interacted with before. I wish I could "install" them somehow or see history of frames I clicked • "Follow X to unlock" — instant pass • Very few actually useful frames

I agree frames aren’t great persistent experiences for all the reasons laid out. I like them purely for what they are, open graph plus. Great potential preview and hopefully onboarding to larger experience.

I think one reason why we're seeing lot of frames that don't feel useful is because it's new and they're mostly made by devs to play with tech or pet projects. I don't think gtm/marketing/brand people have grasped it - and even they will have a learning curve towards usefulness for their audiences. So we just need a bit of time ...

not a crazy amount of high quality frames or ways that frames are working themselves into workflows tbh i think warpcast is doing a great job trying to solve these problems/give devs more tools though -- slim frame embeds, frames in DCs, cast actions/cast actions opening frames, etc

that’s why im designing part of the system im building to be installed through a cast action that you can then use to open the frame that way, you always know where the frame is 888 $degen

I love frames. I do think there's a lot of things to be added/enhanced. my two biggest are: more wallet supports on mobile + audio/video frames. I think bookmarking frames is awesome but bookmarks being just time based and no other organization options makes it fall a little flat (scrolling endlessly to get to tools I use daily). I do think that latency can be rough but there are ways to optimize (a loading screen with a button to refresh to see if it's done, etc so it seems snappier. ). I do think there's magic in Actions + frames but actions is so far away behaviorally from anyone that's not a power user (on a good day) so it's rough to make that a part of your builds.

+1 to wishing I could more easily come back to frames I’ve used. Bookmarking fave frames in the meantime.

this is really great feedback, have thought a good bit about all of this myself we recently shipped minisweeper at @playmini and I'm biased, but I think it's one of the better gaming experiences in frame, we encountered some of these issues and worked around them. would love to hear what you think!

Link buttons are unnecessary friction to UX. If you think about it, every action in a frame is already signed and potentially a transaction. Thus, all on-chain interactions can potentially take place inside the frame itself, without following a link.

I'm frequently giving up on Frames that regularly just don't function. Can the devs do something?

They are Ethereum years ago though. You can see the potential, but building is painful.

I completely relate to your points on Frames. The latency makes the user experience frustrating, and the lack of a history feature is a major drawback. Plus, the Follow X to unlock mechanism just doesn’t sit well. It's high time they improved these aspects to make Frames genuinely useful.

I view frames today as short ads in my timeline to try something & potentially join a channel but I don’t want to leave warpcast. I‘ve bookmarked a lot and think they deserve their own section. Agree on all the flaws and would add that I see often the same ones rehashed and reshared. 1000 $degen

I get excruciatingly pissed when I see the follow like and comment to interact with frame @neged I’m looking at you But some of those can depend on whether you’re on the computer or on your mobile. Which isn’t an automatic “you’re not holding your iPhone right” type Response because it’s not pretty to Have to figure out what works with what client. But just a response and observation with the response.
