This encapsulates why it’s so hard to build in crypto. Zeneca is at least in touch with what he truly wants. Most people really think they are into the art, the innovation, the decentralization, etc but they just chase what’s pumping.

Left: A toss-up. We’re hoping our VP, a former DA and congressperson, pulls through, but it’s beyond our control. Right: This is ours. If our sexual assault perpetrator, Nazi-endorsed ex-president with multiple convictions loses, we’ll burn this country down.

Trying to resume a workout practice is just such nasty work. My only objective is to avoid injury. But so much ouch.

I don’t need to tell people on the internet they are wrong. I don’t need to tell people on the internet they are wrong. I don’t need to tell people on the internet… 🧘🏽‍♂️

As a datapoint on prediction markets, they don't sell truth. They have basic incentives and as long as you care more about projecting a certain truth than you do safeguarding your capital, you can make it say what you want. Or maybe you believe that projecting the truth will make it the truth. 🤷‍♂️ I guess we'll know in a few days. https://www.wsj.com/finance/betting-election-pro-trump-ad74aa71

Is being boosted kind of like CrossFit? You can’t do it without telling everyone you’re doing it? And if so, is it a rule or a compulsion?

Excited for large language models to bring natural language processing to search. I have to imagine a lot of the obstacle to having more advanced search of your photos for example is the UX. The more complicated the query you enable, the more arcane the query language has to get. Most people aren't going to bother to learn it so it doesn't make sense to build. An LLM can effectively parse your word vomit into a query it can then execute on.

I wonder what percentage of farcaster traffic right now is all channels migration debate/discussion. A topic that consumes those of us who are here but a use case that is completely irrelevant to the majority who matter, those that have yet to arrive.

If the channels as public group chats experiment goes decently well, I’d like to recommend an adjustment to the name space issue of the current implementation. If it’s all about the community someone builds, then minimize the name squatting and first mover advantage. My 2 cents.

I respect the bet on changing how channels work. It's an acknowledgement that farcaster usage right now may have been satisfactory for some but it's not really working yet. As such, you have to break some stuff to try and get out of a local maximum.

I’d love to see the engagement numbers as this channels experiment plays out. I can’t be the only person unfollowing channels I used to participate in because I can’t be bothered to figure out the specific membership rules or method to reconnect.

"There is a popular meme that this meeting should have been an email. Why wasn't it an email? Because people frequently convey information in a way that is most comfortable and convenient for the conveyor. Current LLMs now provide unprecedented versatility in tailoring the form of a message as either sender or receiver and it will provide significant leverage to those who thoughtfully deploy it. We all have particular preferences for how we create and consume information. Now we can more easily serve wider audiences." https://paragraph.xyz/@saadiq/this-meeting-will-also-be-an-email

It's continuously wild to me the things you have to teach your child. I remember being surprised at the realization of how much coordination it takes for a child to learn to jump. Pressing off equally and powerfully with both feet is something you have to learn. I remember being shocked how many times I needed to explain that they shouldn't pee in the bathwater. And separately but also related that they shouldn't drink the bathwater. That just seems obvious. Now, at 10 and 7, they will not flush a toilet unless asked repeatedly. And that they will just walk right out of dirty clothes and never look back. So much is cultural rather than just natural. So much nurture rather than nature.

If it hasn't been mentioned here yet, Spotify family. Not that you'll get to listen to any of your music for a while, but if you want to keep the assorted jingles for your kids separate from your music, Spotify family with an account for you, your partner and the kids is a must.

One halloween my whole family dressed up as the Darth Vader (my daughter) and storm troopers (myself, my wife, my son and our nanny). We trick or treated as I played the imperial march on Spotify. 1. Awesome 2. WRECKED my Spotify recommendations for a while 3. 🤷‍♂️ Worth it

I always love this quote. "If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea." -- Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
