My toddler seems bored by his toys — any recommendations for versatile, preferably non plastic, toys for a 13 month old?

my recommendation would be simple household objects they see you interact with. Help they begin to engage them with them using their imagination: a few old kitchen tools: measuring cups, spoons, whisk, etc + some water and dirt/sand cardboard box, blankets, ribbons and a few stuffed animals Been on this approach since the beginning and my 7yr old still operates in make believe and inventing games and storylines to play out. My 10yr old occasionally joins the younger ones. this video highlights the concept well: https://www.instagram.com/p/C9g_vQwtssv/

every week or so we rotate toys for my 16-month-old, keeps them fresh. do you have magnatiles (or the cheaper but functionally identical dupe Picasso Tiles)? can't really build at this age but just putting them together and prying them apart is interesting for him. or wooden blocks to stack yours might be a bit young for this still, but the Melissa & Doug shopping cart is awesome and will have longevity as a toy IMO https://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Shopping-Sturdy-Metal/dp/B000VO3GPG

i always found that larger sized toys have longer attention spans. so large wooden houses or structures with a few moving parts, wooden train sets, a toy kitchen, a model home they can go into…etc.. but drawback is they take up space.
