Spam filtering is coming to Warpcast. Over the last 3 months, we've labelled thousands of spammy accounts by hand and @akshaan has carefully trained an ML model to do this automatically. We're rolling out this model starting today, and it will significantly improve the user experience.

Spam is posting irrelevant content in public spaces to farm reactions and follows. Some examples: - Posting irrelevant replies to someone's cast - Posting irrelevant content in a channel - Mentioning or recasting users unnecessarily Here's a one from a few minutes ago:

Warpcast won't show casts from spammers in public spaces. They won't show up in the channels, replies and notifications of people who don't follow them. Warpcast does promise that content will always be visible to followers (sufficient decentralization), even if a user is labelled spammy.

wait, you're gonna label someone's entire account as spam for saying hi to you (???)🤦🏻 i hope y'all's ML algo is better than the one that took away a bunch of people's degen airdrops for having an inoptimal follower to following ratio y'all should be careful how you move forward with these types of things pls

How would you differentiate btw a normal recast (to echo the content ) and an unnecessary cast ?

“Mentioning users unnecessarily” Per this: would @nftsoffc be considered spam, you think? It is an account which posts certain collection NFTs and tags collectors.

"Recasting users unnecessarily" sounds like a very hard rule to maintain. What is an example of a clearly unnecessary recast? 🤔

Would this affect actions that we use like /paperboy by @jtgi ? I've been using it to tip 1% and it sure looks spammy when doing it, but is handy!

What about people giving out degen tips? This could be seen as spam by algo, because it's basically just a bunch of replies with a number and $degen ticker. Will that be excluded from the spam filter? Otherwise it will disincentivise people from tipping. Cc @wake.eth - would love to hear your thoughts on this too 🙂
