what about aggregating onchain identity solutions (gitcoin passport, cb kyc’d address, worldcoin, ens/basename, icebreaker, etc) and focusing on onboarding those users/addresses ?

Worldcoin is a dead end. Best case is it’ll be stripped for bare parts. Worst case is that it succeeds, and makes the world worse. It approaches the question of identity naively, and is too easily exploited. Strict identity is brittle and weak.

I think the endgame looks more like Gitcoin Passport, with multiple schemes for proving humanness and with a weighted scoring of each of them.

There are some benefits to considering POAP for this issue. I had discussed with @horsefacts.eth casually at some point - in particular, the dataset is strongly skewed to real humans because we take strong measures against bot activity at the policy level.
