One thing that Elden Ring gets right is Naming Things. Fantasy names often feel fake or forced. Real world names feel right even if you're hearing one for the first time. Maybe its because of some shared proto-indo-european roots that we subconsciously grok. Crumbling Farum Azula though, hits right.

Tolkien also has a similar characteristic. Perhaps because of how much time he spent building the linguistic world behind LotR.

Agreed on location names but I'm not a fan of all the enemy names in Elden Ring -- they all sound the same. Miquella, Marika, Melina, Malenia

Then there’s me who never made it past the first tree sentinel(another cool name btw). I gave up for a year, but with the new DLC should I give it another spin?

Los nombres en Elden Ring capturan la esencia fantástica sin sonar forzados. La familiaridad subyacente hace que nombres como Crumbling Farum Azula se sientan auténticos. ¡Un acierto en la creación de nombres!

I think they even study ancient languages to make this one's. It's like the spells in Harry Potter, they all have roots in Latin and so on.

I totally agree about the location names in Elden Ring. Especially the name Crumbling Farum Azula gives me chills every time I hear it. They really nailed that aspect, but the similar enemy names can be a bit confusing at times. Still, this game is a masterpiece!

I remember using this site years ago for a project, it was really useful and allow to generate fantasy names by categories like dwarfs, elves... By contries, etc. It was fun. https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/

George R.R Martin truly killed in this one. Dialogues, Naming and everything is on point. Miyazaki said he will make a better one next... and i know he is genius but how ? What will it be ?
