v fair concern w no easy answer 

1) some parts of some events were obv more photo-heavy than others. i avoided those. should i appear in a photo i don’t want i’d like to think they’d remove it. is that guaranteed? no. risk exists. 

2) i did appear in a handful of group side event photos. this was 100p consensual. i could have stepped out and i absolutely would have if they were marketing-esque photos

i did not bc these were personal photos w cherished friends. they carry sentimental value to me. 

is there risk w this? again yes. and i tried to be careful or ambiguous enough that i am not easily identifiable in these photos

3) ultimate bottom line is there are tradeoffs. attending increases risk no matter what. however, not attending *guarantees* i’d have missed out on so many amazing memories, people, and experiences. this means a great deal to me. 

to *me?* the risk was worth it

I'm super curious how your experience was. One of the reasons that I refuse to go to events, besides having to pay the whole cost out of my pocket, is that I don't trust that I wouldn't be doxxed.

The marketing dollars for events flow and people take all kinds of event photos. It just takes one time to lose years of privacy.
