Over my lifetime I have been in more heated arguments with men (who don’t typically cook) over what should and should not go in the garbage disposal.

My vote is for nothing to go in the garbage disposal, because it is very very spooky sounding. But since I am a male, and do not cook, you can disregard this.

The thing is, from a mechanical engineering point of view they are right. Being more careful about what you put in the GD is probably better. But for someone like me, who cooks a lot, I’d rather lose a year of it’s lifespan and actually use it
