Am I even making a dent? This stuff took off in a rip this year— I’ve been spending a few moments each morning ripping this out of the ground, but it has quite a deep root system sometimes so it’s a bit tedious, but I wanna put some thirsty wildflowers down there and these things gotta go

It rained so much last night and I spent 30 minutes this morning pulling them up. I am going to out in some local plants. This garlic mustard is too aggressive! 

It is new. This is the second season for it. I wanna put in more beneficial plant life for the local fauna that use this “highway”

Those bushes and the tree roots probably have the greatest relationship!  The tree roots are pulling up minerals from deep in the earth, the bushes are feeding off it.  Not too mention the fungi and microbe connection, they're in perfect symbiosis.  

But, if you want them gone, bring your hose and let it wet the ground for several hours.  Start digging down with a shovel or a pitchfork and begin loosing the roots, pop them out of the ground.

Yeah, and it’s worse than it’s pictured it takes up a whole strip in my very back garden. It’s called mustard something and it’s extremely invasive. 

This is year two of fighting it and I didn’t have as much energy last year when it was smaller so it’s bigger. I cut it off at the end of the spread and I’m working backwards so that it doesn’t go into other gardens or other spaces. I think I’m at war!

🤘🏼do it! It’s mentally so great

I go out 10 minutes a day. Even if it’s just to admire my strawberry flowers. But when I have the energy and space I’ll fly through the 10 and on to 30-45 minutes in the garden tending to this and that.

This reminded me I need to work on my garden 🪴

Wow. Those are some intense roots! Mine aren’t too bad, but I do need a gardening knife to assist.

It must have been soo difficult once I tried to get rid of roots and it bruised my fingers so bad i  forgot to gloves lol

And once I was wearing but fell right on my back 😭 becoz i out too much pressure and got pulled down instead
