my two cents and in-good-faith interpretation of "not enough interesting content": @dwr.eth DOES NOT mean that current users aren't interesting enough @dwr.eth DOES mean that there are not enough of us so that the supply of interesting content on warpcast simply cannot compete with the supply on other platforms

I hope this is the correct interpretation. It feels shitty to see this rhetoric over and over when so many of us are trying our best.

seriously. its super frustrating & at the same time insulting -- especially when most of us spend all of our time here

it isn’t intended to be an insult to the users, but to the network and its growth (so more of a self-critique). even if every cast here is a banger — 100% bangers — it would still only be a fraction of twitter’s bangers based on volume alone. it’s a nuanced take that needs more specificity, as admitted.

We should make a poll and see how people feel. I think you’d be surprised how many people read this comment, and the many more before it, as an insult to the user base, not the product.

is it more productive to: 1. gauge feelings based on the (inaccurate) interpretation of a poorly worded statement (which we know are negative) OR 2. clarify and better word the statement so it accurately reflects the intent and then see how people feel?

Poll made without context as a Q/A to gauge people’s reactions. This isn’t a one time statement, it’s a reoccurring theme along with slop and some other interesting word choices. It makes people feel a certain way. The comments in the thread are telling and that’s mainly the folks who are prepared to speak up.

yes i recognize that and, as someone who also posts content here, can understand how it comes across as discouraging and appreciate them speaking up. this is my version of speaking up. i try my best to assume best intent (strength and weakness of mine), ask questions to clarify, then find productive common ground.

i understand he wasn’t as nuanced in stating “supply” in the past, but genuine question: what is your ideal outcome in focusing on that when he has personally clarified what he meant and even said “supply”multiple times in that screenshot? why operate from the old interpretation vs new clarification?

get what you’re saying, but in that screenshot alone he mentions supply only twice. i think it ends up being more an issue of perception — even if let’s say, he doesn’t fully mean how people are taking his comment
