After my UN job, after seeing so much shit, I was extremely fed up with society and the world as we know it, so I decided to go to an Ashram, and live there for 10 days. It was hard at first, no weed, no phones, not a whole lot of speaking. Meditation from sun up, to sun dawn, in my little meditation cell, and then in groups. I think of those 10 days a lot. It taught me a lot of things, mostly about not being able to control the outer, but the inner. I really want to go back and do a Vipassana again, feeling similar emotions coming back to me, but I'm not sure if I can do another 10 days without my phone or internet because of this place/ you guys. Thank you for reading this far, my love, reverence, and appreciation for you goes down a lot.

was there any one day of the 10 that sticks out as especially difficult or transformational?

I've sat and served a couple times each. The 10 days without phone or internet is one of the best parts. Getting disconnected from all these systems that are so deeply hooked into our brains is worth it all by itself. That first day of sitting does bring up some thoughts of why the F did I do this again though?

I respect that dude. My GF has done Vipassana 2 times now. I just don't know if I could handle it? I have done fasts and retreats before but 10 days is very long! I would not miss the tech really but what about my Rodeo streak and my warpcast rewards!! 😅

I think you should do it again. Maybe we can do it together. I would really need such an experience right now tbh… I will make sure to go through something like this at least once in my journey!🌹

there is an ashram in quebec that does 3 day sessions :) not a full vipassana, but might be a happy medium for where you're at right now!

This is pretty awesome man, I've been deliberating doing a retreat of a similar kind at some point, just to get myself back to centre. I've been getting alot of hints to pull myself towards Hinduism over the past few years (I've got too much warrior brain for Buddhism)

I’ve been manifesting in some aspect of just flying to the UK and living in solitude on a narrow boat in a canal. Even for a brief moment. I think that surrounded by nature and water on a boat sounds like my cup of tea.

I feel you, those 10 days at the Ashram sound intense, like a total reset. No weed, no phone, just you and your thoughts? That’s hardcore, but it’s cool how it stuck with you, inner peace over outer chaos. I get the itch to go back, though, and the phone thing’s a real snag. Maybe start small, like a weekend without it, and see how it vibes? You’ve got this.

If it brought you peace and reflection, you should embrace it again. We'll still be here after the 10 days to hear about your experience. Things might move fast, but that doesn't mean you have to.

vipasanna saved and has been saving my husband's sanity he continues his practice twice a day at home once in the morning and once at night and starts to feel really bad without it i only did the 10 day course once - i could totally deal with the no phone or internet part but the rest of it is so intense

Do it dude….as great as this place is and the connections…..feeling like you can’t get away from it means it’s time to pull back and focus on self. I’ve had to pull back from here a lot but it has made life IRL so much more complete.

gm love 💕 I channeled this this morning: when the bounty isn’t a banquet and the cost of a single meal at the table of change is more than most make in a year that’s criminal not aspirational (I’m curious as to how this resonates with you! 🫶🏻)
