I have a background show going at all times unless I'm specifically sitting in silent meditation.  And they're always something I've watched many times before so I don't really have to pay attention to it.

Then I'll also often be listening to a podcast or YouTube video on my computer with my headphones on, while I'm working on social media or school projects.

It's like the extra stimulation holds some of the many trains of thought for me so that I can focus without distracting myself so much I don't get anything done.

This describes my days. We have fans all over the house. I also tell myself that I put ASMR on while I'm working "for the dog." 🙃

Yep.  It creates consistent sounds that can drown out other "electricity" sounds, and also creates consistent air circulation - our skin is often very sensitive to subtle changes so having that consistent air flow helps to soothe it.

Is this why my fan is always on no matter how cold it is outside?
