i’ve found ai notetakers to be really useful in helping me be present in a meeting but still get all the takeaways. they definitely change the dynamic and the conversation, though—not in a good way.

i’m not surprised apps like this are starting to emerge, but the idea of having your own private social network full of ai bots is a little disturbing. for me, social should be about human connection and conversation. yes, ai can be useful in helping us unpack our thoughts and feelings (i’ve got my own personal coach gpt that i use pretty regularly) but faking a bunch of followers feels like a step too far.

i put a lot of time and effort into building a personal brand on twitter only for elon to blow it away. i’ve only been here for a few days, but farcaster feels like i’m playing in my own playground not some crazy billionaire’s backyard. and i’m all for it.
