I'm grateful for the more than normal load of work I have right now, but I so need a staycation to play games, do yoga, and just stare at the walls. I might take a few days off after the quarterly tax deadline in January.

Converting old malls into a housing community is an interesting concept. I always think I'd like a little more space between me and my neighbors, but I can also see the pros such as housing for homeless people and those with mobility issues. We tried a onesie for our girl Bridget after her cyst removal surgery, but she still tried to chew her wounds. She has to wear the cone of shame and take it easy for the time being. Cabin fever is strong in the household right now. 🐶

Tori Amos is one of two live concerts I've been to, just her and a piano at a venue in Detroit (I believe Ford Auditorium but the '90s are sometimes fuzzy). You could hear a pin drop between pauses. No one wanted to interrupt her flow. This is an excellent interview. I admit not being the coolest of kids that her rendition that night of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is the first time I understood the lyrics to that damn song. 😁 I'm so glad the journalist in this piece asked her about the Neil Gaiman allegations and she answered the way she did. I'm excited to find out about the existence of "The Heathen Golden Dawn," by strologer/musician/gardener Isaac Hill. I've wanted such a book for decades. The Sanctuary doesn't follow a ceremonial magic track, but I thought this might be of interest here for two reasons. First, the Holy Powers associated with the system in the book are from the pre-Christian, Northern European traditions that we honor here. Secondly, the book has the blessing of author John Michael Greer who wrote the Celtic Golden Dawn and is also @danicaswanson's fellow essayist in "Polytheistic Monasticism: Voices from Pagan Cloisters." Greer served as the Archdruid in the AODA, Ancient Order of Druids in America. He was heavily influential in that organization's monastic order called the Gnostic Celtic Church Monastery. While "The Heathen Golden Dawn" doesn't purport to be monastic, I believe the threads are there for people who might want to use it as a tool in their personal practice. /part 1/2

I'm happy to release the Sanctuary's newest video offering of "Two Prayers to Nótt, Goddess of Night" inspired by the recent post by @danicaswanson, "Hail, The Unsorrowing: Welcoming Nótt." It's under five minutes and includes both a short hail and longer prayer to the goddess. We felt it would be a particularly fitting focus for this month's dark moon incubation retreat theme, which is "the night sky." It's free to view on /zora and also available for minting. Some great tips in this video by Diane Moore. One of my biggest obstacles with putting up videos related to /acrafterscove is fear of looking a fool in front of the camera. And right now, all I really need to do is voiceovers and not even put my face out there. 🙃 Working on the meditation and prayer videos for /blxstonesnctuary has been helpful. I think the biggest takeaway from this video for me right now is to practice for 10 minutes at a time in front of a camera without the expectation to publish but instead increase my comfort level. She's right about the weirdness factor for GenXers, at least for me. I love that technology has helped me work from home, but there's that '70s/'80s kid part of me with a nagging feeling that I should be outside building a fort.
