another observation: i’m driven by a desire to understand, so i often questioned hype openly over time i saw what i consider intellectual honesty labeled as negativity, esp by people who would benefit from blind hype, so i stopped asking publicly but asking why or how isn’t negative, it’s how we get better

always our society has no respect for the cynic anymore, very important to question stuff, especially whatever people are currently excited about disagreement is chill too - quite generative of better outcomes to engage in it I've found!

Asking honest questions in this space is a lonely road. I have alienated a ton of people in DAOs for questions I have asked on DAO proposals. Which is my role as a delegate 🤷 In real life on a long-term team, people learn to work with my sometimes blunt questions, but online I’m afraid I’m not in my element.

I once read a book by a Polish anthropologist on how to study a culture you have to live amongst the people. I wanted to apply these ideas in the field, so I convinced a Rabbi in Chicago to let me study amongst those becoming Rabbis. Learned a lot, but honestly less exciting than I imagined.

I think you have to concurrently ask “if the answer is *good* or if it’s *bad*, what did you accomplish? For example: if you get people to admit that X coin has Y problems, what was your point of getting that answer. If the only 2nd order effect of that “FUD” is price go down, why would they engage? However, if you concurrently show that “if we fix Y problem in Z way, price will actually go up” There is too much competition to *just* question hype. Does this make sense in the spirit of your question here?

I enjoy your neutrally phrased questions, especially when they result in defensive replies. Entertaining stuff

I completely agree—questioning is how we learn and improve. Blind hype may be easy, but true progress comes from understanding the 'why' and 'how'

Just the idea of someone perceiving a question as negative tells me that they personally see it as negative. The object infront is nor negative nor positive, people are. Ted is smart hmm. Notifications on for Ted
