been accidentally wandering down memory lane often this year and couldn’t figure out why turns out we are more often to have periods of peak nostalgia when things around us are changing quickly our brains want to remember the old to anchor ourselves as we adjust to the new anyway here’s a memory i miss a lot

I'll never forget the first time I went to CA and I was on the beach one evening and I looked over the ocean and was totally blown away: "Holy shit! The sun is setting over the water!" As an east coaster, this had never occurred to me. Such an interesting vibe shift.

Hmmm i think i tend to do that. Thanks for sharing why that happens. Although usually when things are changing a lot it’s cuz i’m moving so i’ll literally pack some books of memories and revisit the old memories for that reason
