The Lore of Base Colors
In the Great Beyond, Before All Things
Before time had a name and before the stars had light, there was only the Great Beyond—endless, silent, waiting. And in that vast nothingness, there were two: Red and Black.
They were not beings as we know them. They had no form, no shape—only presence. Red was motion, fire, and hunger. Black was stillness, depth, and patience. They existed together, always together, swirling and shifting through the endless void.
And they played a game.
The game had no beginning and no end. It had no winner and no loser. It simply was. They played it every day, though there was no such thing as “day” yet. The game was their world, their only purpose.
But one moment—though there were no moments yet—Red stopped.
“I am tired of this game,” Red said.
Black did not answer right away. Black never rushed.
“Then what will we do?” Black finally asked.
Red thought. It had never thought about anything beyond the game before. 1 reply
