wait you can just buy a dog in the mall in america??? i have never seen this before in the uk i think most ppl get dogs from breeders, rescue centres or farms i couldnt believe it when i saw a family point at a dog and then were taken to a little room to play with it and then they just took it home did anyone on here get their dogs from a shop how did you know it was a perfect match???

It SHOULD be illegal and a lot of states prohibit it. It’s really poor breeding practice and unethical. But they are of course super cute so people get sucked in. Loads have health problems.

Yeah it’s bad. There is a moral stance of rescuing dogs here unless you’re getting a designer breed (which some people look down on).

In my expert dog opinion, agreed! It also leads to irresponsible/unprepared people taking home puppies, which just ends in neglect, abuse, or them ending up in the shelter system.
