"Why do you spend time arguing with X, Y or Z on Farcaster?" I try to avoid most of it! However, the nature of the network is to propagate memes. Positive or negative. And if too many negative memes propagate without a response, they will metastasize. Other people will start feeling worse (because of the unchecked negativity) and it will subconsciously make them want to use the app less. And to be clear: we aren't always right, we make mistakes, we change our minds (strong opinions loosely held) and can sometimes come across as aggressive or curt (mostly me). But we always try to reset and figure out how to make progress week over week.

I learned about Farcaster 2 years ago when asking about web3 social on Twitter. I read @v 's sufficiently decentralized post and looked up @dwr.eth on Twitter to ask to join. I didn't even follow them on Twitter or heard of them before. I've been here ever since.

forever farcaster bull case: 1. i want to experiment with live streaming 2. twitch has 1000x unlonely distribution but on unlonely i bring my social graph from farcaster 3. so i stream on unlonely 4. unlonely is winning a new user over a big incumbent 5. farcaster is winning because my farcaster social graph is more valuable than a combination of x + twitch social graphs combined flywheels like that are not obvious, quite slow to build and don't grow dau at a rate that would satisfy @dwr.eth and @v but imo will compound massively over next 2 years

FARCASTER LOGIN What is Farcaster good for? It’s good for devs. It’s good for data analysts. And it’s good for social login. The last is the thing I’m most interested in. When you start a new site you can use Google or Apple login. And that’s fine. But it just gives you an email. And maybe Google Drive access in Google’s case. You can also use X/Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn. But those APIs change so quickly and adversarially that you can’t really build features on your site that rely on them. So you end up using them similarly to Google login, where you get a username only. Now arrives Farcaster. The first fairly large scale decentralized crypto social protocol. Where people aren’t in it solely for the money. Now, for all users who log in with Farcaster, suddenly you can provide encrypted messaging between accounts and pull their full social context. And if they’ve connected a wallet and ENS, they have a balance and can spend and receive money in your app. This changes everything.

When prices drop sharply, a decrease in open interest means both long and short positions are exiting. Longs are being liquidated or stopped out, while shorts are taking profits. With large liquidations and a low funding rate, further significant liquidations are unlikely, as primary short positions have mostly been closed. Therefore, the market is likely to enter a consolidation phase rather than reversing immediately

BTC and ETH contract holdings have both significantly decreased, and leverage in the market has been nearly wiped out, especially for ETH leverage

56.6% of all L2 throughput is powered by the Superchain, built on the OP Stack. That's not counting Blast, Mantle, Manta, and others using OP Stack but not sharing revenue with the OP Collective like those in the Superchain 73.92% of all L2 throughput is powered by OP Stack.
