I have used VPNs for more than 10+ years. My reasons: 1 To bypass geo-blocking 2 Because I like to push wrong data to people who try to mine data that should not be mined 3 No logs is also a plus though you can't trust 100/100 no logs 4 In some rare cases you can improve the connection 5 As a privacy statement

In public places and airbnbs. To add some privacy just in case. Free proton VPN and sometimes Mullvad

Will never understand the widespread use (obviously this doesn't apply to ppl with regional limitations). It's when I hear my "ordinary" friends using them at hotels because it's the norm where I'm like "why?"

do you really want every company (and all the trackers and data brokers) on the other side of https to know your home address?

mostly for privacy reasons: - to block IP tracking - to confuse ads - no multisession associations - internet service provider would not know browsing history
