Lots of Zora discourse on X today. ZachXBT seems upset about his famous 3000x mint turning into a coin, seems he didn’t realize that was gonna happen

Zora UI doesn’t indicate that it turns into an ERC20, which I think is by design since the mechanism isn’t really meant to be a token launcher it’s more for improving secondary liquidity (which in practice the market decides is the same thing)

I think he thought it was going to be an infinite free mint, which you could do before the protocol update. If that’s the case then it would theoretically just be a 20c collectible to collect for fun

But he didn’t know the update happened, so he got a secondary market on his work that he didn’t expect

that's the issue with permissionless tokens, most of the volume in crypto is token speculation probably
