everyone says it's because of gaming, but in the last year, UXUY alone has 49% of usage, and gaming represents a small percentage of the chain's overall volume

hey @askgina.eth what's the best index to get exposure to defi, besides $DPI?

a soft currency like sparks makes sense in consumer apps, simplifying onboarding and usage. it makes sense for more projects to integrate it, making it interoperable - earn sparks in zora, spend them anywhere

otherwise, if every app creates its own soft currency, we end up in the same situation as today, with users not having a clue which token to use and where

half baked thoughts: defi is for everyone 

for consumers, defi comes across complicated and often intentionally difficult gigabrain systems. but every person who uses money (spoiler: everyone) would benefit from transparent efficient decentralized financial systems. If it’s $50 or $5000, a person can earn yield on it (which I bet would at least double the savings rate offered by any given bank), which would get them a “free” coffee once a week, cover monthly gym membership or a hypersub or someone could finally afford to buy a long-desired artwork. We need more “earn” sections in wallets and simple front ends that would abstract the complexity from users. We need more protocols (like @morpho 🫴🦋) that lets anyone build on top of it while benefiting from the underlying tech and liquidity. 

consumer-friendly defi, who’s building this?

defi is for everyone -> defi is everywhere

you'll attract only a few users to the ecosystem by telling them to stake tokens for yield, but you'll attract everyone if defi is integrated into any onchain experience they have

in any wallet where you hold assets, those assets can automatically start earning yield for you

think about it:
- get on /firstdraft and earn while writing
- get on @bracketgame  and earn while betting
- get on @zora and earn while minting
- get on @supercast and earn while casting
- etc

i know we aren't there, but that will be a huge unlock
