But the muscles impacted pretty much the same? Other than grip, lats (rdl) and spinal loading (gm)

They're both hinge movement patterns, so yea basically the same.

No, basically not the same. Same movement with different loading patterns = different muscle activations = different purposes Good mornings primarily target spinal erectors RDL’s primarily target hamstrings & glutes Key differences

I've only done good mornings straddled on a bench, it was all back no hamstrings or glutes. maybe I was doing them wrong.
