how does putting the vide on chain, etc... gives the ability to verify if it's real or not? heard a lot of people talking about this, what's the best thing to read on the topic? https://twitter.com/shaunmmaguire/status/1758197940253000056

You just need signatures and a signature registry. Blockchain has the signature registry, signatures are off chain metadata embedded into the videos. Similar to FCs architecture.

True but that still doesn't solve if x is real or not? someone could post a video the self-driving car is burning, there's no way to know if it's real or not even if it's signed, and the other cases don't seem that important, easily fixable without signtures https://warpcast.com/shawki/0xfe0f78f6

Ideally the tool that generated the video publishes a signed attestation so you get the source of the video (i.e Sora, iPhone camera) that can be looked up. If the source can't be determined then it's likely fake

Hmm, good point that makes me realize I haven’t thought my bullishness on this concept (FOX doing this on Polygon sparked it) through. Off top of head, I’d say Twitter isn’t as cred neutral, but that prob only really applies to individual accounts - not verified companies
