With the common misnomer of using Warpcast and Farcaster interchangeably, I wonder how much it might have helped switching the -er. Farcast: sounds like a noun, abstract Warpcaster: sounds like a tool like ruler, calculator, etc.

Update: I learned there are two types of people in the world. Those who read Hyperion and those who didn’t (me) https://warpcast.com/tomato.eth/0x4d5198f4 https://warpcast.com/darrylyeo/0x2894f6ef

great topic. for the sf nerds out there, it's generally recognized that the word (noun) Farcaster was created by Dan Simmons and the Hyperion Cantos Series. it's like a teleporter where each is interconnected by a vast network of other Farcasters https://hyperioncantos.fandom.com/wiki/Farcaster

Tbh I think regardless of the way it’s spelt or pronounced. I think it’s hard for people to differentiate and only when they here will they learn the difference. Takes a while to sink in. Did for me

Maybe so, but "farcaster" is named after a specific technology in the Hyperion books. It would be kind of weird to mess with that.

“farcast” sounds like a verb “to farcast” but maybe that’s my bias having read the books

Interesting idea. twitter has twits which became tweets (same verb) Tweet-er usually refers to the user sending tho As in -er means "one who does ____" in english

I think it's a good idea ! Farcaster is a concept of protocol, and warpcast is understood as a tool (=UI) that can access the society provided based on the protocol. Considering these uses, 'Farcast' and 'Warpcaster' might be more appropriate words~
