Does anyone feel like crypto has distorted their relationship with money? After some time I've found myself frustrated with (the lack of growth) of ordinary investments, and I tend to take on greater risks too. I'm still pretty responsible but my investment strategy has definitely changed

It definitely makes me value my money more... Like, I'm selling down S&P to fund new things so that I don't touch my crypto hahah

It's hard to go back to a 5.15% APY high yield savings account after hitting a 300x on a shitcoin with a picture of a cat.

Not really, but I think with on-chain money, you take more risks than if it were fiat. On the other hand, I don't buy anything with my crypto income other than withdraw it if it's absolutely necessary. I haven't bought any gear or equipment in the past two years.

Not too much. More than crypto, I think entrepreneurship changed (distorted?) my relationship with money. I'm still ruthless when it comes to cutting, but simultaneously much much more tolerant about investing money to make more money.

Yes. It makes me feel like traditional money is kinda slow and dumb and that I dont really have a lot of control over it

Depends on what the crypto is attached to… hard assets [real estate, brick/mortar biz, machine/equipment…] creates a weird relationship with the money cycle… kinda thought this was where Bountycaster was heading; i.e. stake anything

Yes 👍 my theory: as humans we’re subject to diminishing margins of returns crypto gets us used to high levels of returns and high levels of loss we need greater returns and losses to feel like we’re winning/working so we move into riskier, all in, style investments that we would never have made pre crypto aka we’re all adrenaline junkies

Not me! my crypto return rate since 3 years ago is basically hovering near 5%. Not negative (relief) but not eye popping. Basically, I haven't been consistently DCA'ing into BTC/ETH. And I initially followed too many of the obvious scams (ex: wonderland). Best crypto investment has been out of all the things, in stable coins 🤷

No I don't think so. I don't have investments or stocks or anything so I don't have that aspect to compare to. It's basically just been an extension of my prior odd jobs on the side for extra income strategies. It's changed how I think of money globally, because I see the potential for a new post-imperialist monetary system, but that doesn't change anything in my life in a practical sense.

It’s like crypto has turned us all into financial adrenaline junkies. One minute you’re sipping tea, watching your stocks grow at a snail’s pace, and the next, you’re bungee jumping off the crypto cliff😅 Ordinary investments? Oh please

To be honest Crypto has made me a fast thinker and doer I always spend so much time trying to find the perfect entrance for either a deal or investment But this space as genuinely thought me to be swift with my actions cause every moment you waste in making a decision on here, you can legit lose a whole lot of money

It’s like normal people keep their investments for a year and get like 10% and I just can’t do that anymore because I would expect astronomical returns naturally as someone who is into crypto

I find it's much easier to spend money in crypto than in the real world (500 dollars on a jpeg of a ninja rabbit? Sure! Your favourite pasta salad dish gone up by 50 cents? Never buying it again.) and you can easily get used to your investments going up or down by a huge percentage, but I still manage to keep them as separate entities. I know that can only happen in crypto so it doesn't bother me when it doesn't happen with other investments. I follow simple rules too- Never invest what you can't afford to lose, never fuck with leverage, always make sure incomings are more than outgoings etc.
